BMW K 100

BMW K 100 was both a new motorcycle series from BMW and the name of the basic model of the series delivered from 1983. These motorcycles were built until 1991 . For the first time, instead of the air-cooled boxer engine typical of BMW , they had a water-cooled 2-valve, four-cylinder in-line engine installed horizontally. The displacement was 987 cm³, the output 66 kW (90  PS ) at 8000 revolutions / min ; the maximum speed was over 200  km / h . The successor came the 4-valve, four-cylinder in-line engines with only minor changes in appearance.

The frame was a lined tubular space frame in which the motor-gearbox unit was used as a load-bearing element.
