BMW R 80

The BMW R 80 was a motorcycle model from the manufacturer BMW . The naked naked bike is the successor model of the BMW R 80/7 and was the technical basis for the BMW R 80 RT models from 1985 to 1995. It was the first boxer BMW designed to run on unleaded petrol from the start .

Its boxer engine with a displacement of 797 cc and 37 kW (50 hp) output at 6500 rpm came from the BMW R 80/7. The exhaust and intake tract has been optimized in favor of a better torque curve. With this engine, the machine reached a top speed of approximately 180 km / h; the consumption at a constant 90 km / h was given as 4.6 l for 100 km.

The fork, front wheel and brakes came from the BMW K 100 .

The model was built from 1985 to 1992 in 13,815 copies, the number including 314 government models. Its successors were the BMW R 80 R and BMW R 100 R with Paralever .
