Technical specifications

It is powered by a water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a capacity of 987 cm³, which has a nominal output of 66 kW (90 hp) and generates a maximum torque of 86 Nm at a speed of 6000 rpm. The in- line engine is installed horizontally and has a stroke of 70 mm and a bore of 67 mm in diameter. The compression ratio is 10.2: 1.

The four-stroke engine has an electronic injection from Bosch (LE-Jetronic) and an electronic ignition control. Wet sump lubrication ensures the oil supply. The starter battery has a voltage of 12 volts and a capacity of 25 Ah. The alternator generates an electrical output of 460 watts.

Power transmission

Power is separated via a single-plate dry clutch, and torque is converted by a claw-shift five-speed gearbox. The secondary drive takes place via a cardan shaft.

landing gear

The chassis is built on a tubular space frame and carries a single-sided swing arm called a monolever with 110 mm spring travel. The front wheel has a telescopic fork with a 41.3 mm stanchion diameter and hydraulic shock absorbers . A double disc brake on the front tire and a disc brake on the rear, both with a diameter of 285 mm. From 1988 a 10 kg anti-lock braking system was offered as an option for 1,980 DM.
