Alexander Efimovich Rasumny

Aleksandr Razumny ( Russian Александр Ефимович Разумный ., Scientific transliteration Aleksandr Efimovič Razumnyj * 1. May 1891 in Jelisawetgrad , Ukraine ; † 16th November 1972 in Moscow ) was a Russian film director and cinematographer .

Life

Rasumny studied painting at the Odessa Art School . From 1915 he worked for the film and is one of the co-founders of the Russian / Soviet film. He made his directorial debut in 1917, during the Revolution he made agitation films.

In Germany, he directed the films Superfluous People in 1926 (with Eugen Klöpfer , Heinrich George , Fritz Rasp , Albert Steinrück and Werner Krauss ) and in 1927 Pique Dame (with Jenny Jugo ).

From 1930 he worked again in Moscow for various film production companies and taught at the State Film Institute of the USSR .
