Technical specifications
drive
The air and oil-cooled two-cylinder engine produced from 1085 cc a nominal power of 66 kW (90 hp) and a maximum torque of 95 Nm at a speed of 5500 min -1 .
The two cylinders of the horizontally installed boxer engine have a diameter of 99 mm. The pistons have a stroke of 70.5 mm with a compression ratio of 10.7: 1. Each cylinder head of the four-stroke engine has a chain-driven overhead camshaft that controls two intake and two exhaust valves via rocker arms. The fuel is prepared by a Bosch Motronic MA 2.2 with overrun cut-off . The fuel tank has a capacity of 23 liters.
The motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 215 km / h.
landing gear
The chassis consists of three parts, the front frame, the rear frame and the load-bearing motor.
The front suspension consists of a Telelever fork with triangular trailing arm and a hydraulically damped central spring strut. The rear suspension consists of a Paralever single-sided swing arm with a hydraulically damped, adjustable central spring strut.
The rear suspension can be individually adjusted and adapted to the driver's wishes, depending on whether sporty or comfortable driving is preferred. Seat height, handlebar position, windshield and handbrake lever can also be adjusted. On request, the R 1100 RS was supplied with an anti-lock braking system. The tires are 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 160/60-ZR18 at the rear.
