The Făgăraş County ( Romanian Județul Făgăraş ) was the successor to the Fagarash County, a historical administrative unit in Transylvania as part of the Kingdom of Romania . The seat of the administration and the tribunal was the city of Făgăraş . Făgăraş County existed from 1920 to 1950, when the Jews were abolished as part of the Soviet organization of Romania .

Demographics

In the 1930 census, 86,039 inhabitants were registered, of which 78.3% Romanians, 12.5% ​​Germans, 5.5% Hungarians, 2.9% Gypsies, and 0.5% Jews. Regarding religious affiliation, 55.2% Orthodox, 25.7% Uniate , 12.9% Evangelical, 2.9% Reformed, 1.9% Roman Catholics and 0.5% Mosaic were registered.
