District causality

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Circular causality is a principle of cybernetics , according to which in cybernetic systems there is a circular causation through feedback .

Example: In a thermostat-controlled heating system, too low a temperature causes heating, which then causes a higher temperature, which causes the heating to be switched off, which again causes a lower temperature, which ... and so on.

Before the name "cybernetics" was agreed, the subject area of cybernetics was described as circular causal, and feedback mechanisms in biological and social systems .
