Kurt Cornelius

Kurt Cornelius (born December 3, 1893 in Barmen , † December 5, 1966 in Bad Honnef ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , Cornelius completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and carpenter . He then worked as a construction technician and site manager and from 1920 onwards as an independent contractor. From 1932 he belonged to the presbytery of the Protestant parish in Honnef (from 1960 Bad Honnef ). After the war he was a member of various bodies of the CDU and was finally appointed honorary chairman of the CDU city association Bad Honnef. In 1948 Cornelius was a co-founder of Bad Honnef AG .

From July 5, 1950 to July 20, 1962, Cornelius was a member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in constituency 022 Siegkreis-Süd. He was a member of the city council of Honnef from 1946 to 1961, including many years as chairman of the building and urban planning committee and from 1950 as chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He was represented in the district assembly of the Siegkreis from 1948 to 1952.
