The district teaching garden is a demonstration and school garden of the Steinfurt district in Steinfurt and a unique facility in the Münsterland . It covers an area of ​​approx. 30,000 m². In 1914 the garden was brought into being as the "Circle Fruit and Vegetable Garden". The garden is a recognized training company for gardeners specializing in fruit growing . The garden is also important for schools; in the garden there is a “green classroom” and an adventure trail with 19 stations. Lots of exotic trees and shrubs, such as the primeval sequoia , the handkerchief tree and wing nuts, available. The district teaching garden is open all year round from sunrise to sunset with free admission. The garden is part of the European Garden Heritage Network and has around 40,000 visitors a year.
