The European Garden Heritage Network (European Garden Network, EGHN for short) is a partnership of government organizations, tourism agencies, non-profit associations, regional municipal associations, foundations and other garden owners with the aim of promoting the preservation of parks , gardens and green spaces. The regions of Ostwestfalen-Lippe , Münsterland , Ruhrgebiet and Rhineland (all North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany), Pays de la Loire (France), Somerset , Surrey and Cheshire (all three England) have developed a garden route on which gardens and Botanical gardens are to be visited. New routes in West Flanders (Belgium) and the Dutch province of Limburg were presented to the public in May 2008. In June 2009 a route was added in the North Hesse region and in spring 2015 another route in Brittany . A total of around 190 parks and gardens from 14 European countries are partners in the EGHN, as individual parks and gardens can also become partners.

The EGHN was launched in 2003 as part of INTERREG III B NWE (North West Europe), a joint initiative of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project sponsor is the independent foundation under civil law, Center for Garden Art and Landscape Culture, Stiftung Schloss Dyck in Jüchen .
