The MFO Park is a public park on the site of the former Maschinenfabrik Oerlikon in the district new Oerlikon in Zurich .

The park designed by the planning community raderschallpartner ag landscape architects and Burckhardt + Partner architects is characterized by its modern and unusual design. The park essentially consists of a large, planted metal frame, which is artistically illuminated at night. The steel frame is 100 m long, 35 m wide and 17 m high, taking on the dimensions of the Oerlikon machine factory. Ropes, plant bowls, stairs, galleries and balconies are suspended in the scaffolding. The sun deck on the roof offers a panoramic view of Zurich-North. The park goes through expressive seasonal phases: In winter, the construction of the supporting structure with the climbing aids comes to light, which disappears under the flowering and green layers during the vegetation period. In autumn the park glows in the red of the wild wine . The interior of the “green hall” is used for cultural events.

The construction of the park on the 0.9 hectare site began in 2001; it was opened in 2002. The second part of the design concept, a space in front of the open side of the hall, with tiled steles , has not yet been implemented. The four-story brick building intended for demolition will continue to be used for the time being.
