Cross for Aranjuez Award

The Cross for Aranjuez Award was a Spanish award given to the participants in the Battle of Aranjuez on August 5, 1809 in the struggle for independence against France . The award did not take place until May 30, 1816 by royal decree.

Order decoration

The order decoration was a gold-framed white cross. In the center was a golden shield with the inscription “Por F. VII.” For King Ferdinand VII. , The founder, and an inscription “Vencedores de Aranjuez”. A green laurel wreath formed the background for the central shield. A yellow ribbon was used, which was attached to a golden crown on which the decoration hung.
