The Kreuzberg is an elevation south of the city of Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt. It is located in the Beyendorf-Sohlen district .

The mountain reaches a height of 110.8 m and is part of a range of mountains formed during the Ice Age, which also includes the Frohser Berg to the east and the Sohlener Mountains a little further north .

The elevation owes its name to a crossroads slightly to the east of the highest point. Field paths that led from Sohlen to Welsleben and from Westerhüsen to Dodendorf have crossed here since time immemorial . The latter path leads along the ridge of the Kreuzberg. Since the construction of the A 14 , which runs a little west of Kreuzberg, the route to Dodendorf has been interrupted.

From Kreuzberg, which, unlike the Frohser Berg or the Sohlener Berge, is not forested, there is a good view of the surrounding landscape of the Magdeburg Börde , the city of Magdeburg and the rural district of Beyendorf-Sohlen to the north. The survey is used for agriculture.

On November 8, 1813, in the vicinity of the mountain, there was a skirmish between Russian troops advancing from Welsleben and French troops standing at soles. General Pierre Lanusse observed the advance of the Russian units from Kreuzberg. Heavy Russian artillery fire broke out between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. On the French side there were 34 dead and 111 wounded. The French then withdrew, the strategic task of enabling the French withdrawal from Schönebeck to be fulfilled, in the direction of the then French-occupied fortress of Magdeburg .

On December 4, 2015, a sculpture erected on the summit was inaugurated. The sculpture Bördepaar was created by Wolfgang Roßdeutscher and made available free of charge and placed on a base. Immediately to the west of the sculpture is a bench that has already been set up.
