Knotting instructions

The crossbeam is a knot to connect two perpendicular beams or squared timbers.

The federal government is very widespread among scouts for building camp structures, but is also used in disaster control.

Knot

The rope is tied to the supporting beam by means of a weaving line or carpenter's knot. The knot lies directly under the crossbar. Then the rope is passed three times over the crossbeam and under the longitudinal beam. The collar is then protected from slipping by toggles. The loose end is then attached to the beam with a weaving line.

There is a second variant that manages without the first connection node. The rope is placed in the middle of the longitudinal beam and the wraps and toggles are symmetrical. The ends of the rope are then connected with a square knot .

Alternatives

The diagonal collar connects two round pieces of wood that are not perpendicular to each other.
