The Kreuzkapelle is the symbol of the city of Bad Camberg and the entire Golden Ground . It is located at 320  m above sea level. NN high mountain in the east of the city, with a wide view over the golden reason.

The year of construction of the Kreuzkapelle was 1682. At that time it was smaller, in the shape of an octagon and on the base of the choir. The current cross-shaped structure was expanded in 1725. The building goes back to the Freiherr von Hohenfeld family. On the way to the Kreuzkapelle there are 7 stations of the Cross. Since the panels from around 1700 are very weathered, the originals are in the crypt of the Kreuzkapelle and replicas on the wayside shrines. See Way of the Cross (Bad Camberg) .

In addition to being a listed building, the Kreuzkapelle has been given the status of war protection under the Hague Convention .
