The war memorial in Bures-sur-Yvette , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was erected in 1920. The war memorial on Rue Charles de Gaulle, next to the Saint-Matthieu church , commemorates the soldiers from Bures-sur-Yvette who were killed in the First and Second World Wars . It also commemorates the civilian casualties of a Royal Air Force bombing raid on June 15, 1944, in which 17 people were killed.

The bronze sculpture in the center of the monument was created by the sculptor Albert Herbemont (1874–1953).
