The Monument aux combattants russes (war memorial for the Russian fallen) in the Russian cemetery in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was erected in the 1950s. As part of the Russian cemetery, the small chapel is on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

The war memorial commemorates the servicemen of Russian nationality who were killed as soldiers in the French army during World War II .

The structure was built on behalf of the mother of a fallen Russian soldier. The pyramid roof of the chapel, which is open on three sides, rests on columns. An icon depicting the crucifixion of Christ is attached to the front .

A plaque commemorates Vera Apollonowna Obolenskaja , who was murdered as a resistance fighter on August 4, 1944 in Berlin-Plötzensee .
