Andelsbuch war memorial

The Andelsbuch war memorial is located on the main square in front of the main entrance to the parish church in the Bregenzerwald community of Andelsbuch . It is a listed building.

The war memorial was erected in the interwar period between 1918 and 1938. It consists of a three-part raised stone base with bronze plaques with inscriptions. The middle marble plaque reads: "Our heroes of the world war - 1914–1918 - dedicated by the community of Andelsbuch". Underneath it reads: “War cannot keep us apart forever”. On the left and right bronze plaques the victims in the community of the Second World War are listed. The central stone base is crowned by a group of bronze figures depicting a woman and a child trying to prevent a soldier from going to war. The sculpture was created by Georg Matt in 1929 .

In 2012 the monument had to be renovated due to the weather after a crack had appeared in the base.
