The warrior chapel in Wetzelsdorf is a chapel in the XV. Graz city ​​district Wetzelsdorf next to Steinbergstrasse No. 9. Its history goes back to the second half of the 17th century.

The chapel was built in the second half of the 17th century. In 1958 it was expanded into a warrior chapel .

description

The chapel is a small, square structure with an apse and a bell gable . The wrought-iron lattice wing in the entrance portal dates from the first quarter of the 19th century. The original lattice, made in the second half of the 17th century, is now in the Kunstgewerbemuseum Graz .

The interior is spanned by a square vault. In the altar niche is a Maria with child and an angel holding a candlestick. Both figures and the frame were created in the first quarter of the 19th century. There are also wooden sculptures of St. Florian and other saints from the second quarter of the 18th century in the chapel.
