Kristin Ørmen Johnsen (born March 8, 1953 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative Høyre party . She has been a member of the Storting since 2013 .

Life

Johnsen graduated from nursing school in 1977 and she subsequently worked as a nurse. In 1978 she worked in Dublin . From 1980 she served as a university lecturer at the Buskerud University . From 1997 to 2000, Johnsen was vice-rector , after which she served as dean of the health department at Buskerud University in Drammen until 2001 . From 1995 to 2003 she sat in the local parliament of Drammen.

On October 26, 2001, she was appointed State Secretary in the Local and Regional Ministry. She held the post until January 16, 2004. She then served as Rector of Oslo University of Applied Sciences until 2013 .

Johnsen entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There she represents the constituency of Buskerud and she was initially a member of the health and welfare committee. After the 2017 election , she moved to the Local Government and Administration Committee before moving to the Family and Culture Committee in March 2018 during the current legislative period. There she then became chairwoman.
