The Kronebau is the building of the Circus Krone in Munich and the only permanent building used for circus events in Germany .

In 1919 the first “Circus Krone building” was built from wood, which was used for other events in addition to circus events.

In the run-up to the Hitler putsch , Adolf Hitler called for an uprising in the Kronebau on October 30, 1923 - without any results. After the seizure of power of the National Socialists of Kronebau of which was NSDAP used repeatedly for rallies. The mass rally on November 10, 1938 following the Reichspogromnacht and the last rally on November 8, 1944 to commemorate the Hitler coup of 1923, at which Heinrich Himmler spoke on behalf of Hitler, are particularly documented . The first Kronebau was destroyed six weeks later on December 21, 1944 in an air raid on Munich . After the war, a second crown building, also made of wood, was opened as a temporary solution. Its current successor opened on December 23, 1962 and offers space for 3000 spectators.

The Circus Krone plays on the building from November to March, after which it goes on a journey with the tent. During this time, the Kronebau is rented out as a venue for cabaret events, rock and pop concerts, for example the two legendary Beatles concerts in 1966. Until 2008, the Stars in der Manege event was recorded every year at the beginning of December , and ARD's Christmas was sent.

The Krone area on Marsstrasse in Munich (postal address is Zirkus-Krone-Strasse) includes, in addition to the arena with access, cloakrooms, restaurants and offices, the Krone Villa, which was inhabited by circus director Christel Sembach-Krone in winter . There is also the Krone Zoo with stables for around 60 horses; the heated elephant stable, in which the crown elephants and a now retired hippo are at home. The elephant stable also housed the white rhinoceros "Tsavo" [† March 5, 2019]. There are other enclosures for the llamas, camels and zebras. The Krone Zoo is open to spectators.

Opposite the Kronebau there is another square that belongs to the Kroneareal. Among other things, the large car workshop of the circus is located on it, and circus wagons are parked here during the winter .
