The Kronen Brewery Bruno Ermisch was a beer brewery in Leipzig - Connewitz .

location

The address of the brewery was Biedermannstrasse 40. The production buildings were located directly on Biedermannstrasse, which leads south from Connewitzer Kreuz . The associated property extended to Wolfgang-Heinze-Strasse (formerly Pegauer Strasse), about 200 meters away. This is where the “Goldene Krone” restaurant was built and is still located today.

history

In 1875 Hermann Hempel founded a brewery in Biedermannstrasse and called it the "Kronen Brewery". It was taken over in 1883 by Bruno Ermisch (1853–1910). After his death in 1910, his son Bruno Walter Ermisch (1879–1949) ran the business and renamed it "Kronen-Brauerei Bruno Ermisch". The logo with the crown and the initials EB was created. From 1912 to 1914 the Goldene Krone restaurant was built in the form it is today, at that time with a beer garden.

  City brewery

After the Second World War , after a phase of operation with state participation, it was taken over into public ownership . From 1979 the brewery was part of the Leipzig Beverage Combine as VEB Kronen Brauerei Leipzig. Instead of the EB in the logo was now KB. After the fall of the Wall, the company belonged to the Leipzig City Brewery for a short time before it was shut down and sold by the Treuhandanstalt .

In 1992 the buildings were completely demolished and later a residential complex including a retirement home was built on the site.
