Georg Kallmeyer (born on September 15, 1875 in Braunschweig ; died on May 27, 1945 in Wolfenbüttel ) was a German publisher who dedicated himself in particular to the publication of music literature and song books.

Act

Kallmeyer was introduced to the work of a publisher in the "Ramdohr'schen Buchhandlung" in Braunschweig, which had belonged to his father Emil Kallmeyer (1842–1914) since July 1, 1870. His grandfather was Gustav Kallmeyer.

Kallmeyer Verlag
On January 1, 1913, Kallmeyer became an equal partner in Julius Zwissler's publishing house, which had existed in Braunschweig since 1872 . In 1916 he became the sole owner of the Zwissler publishing house, which he made into a music publisher. In 1925 he changed the name to "Kallmeyer-Verlag" or "Georg Kallmeyer Verlag".

He published the sheet Der Wandervogel and books of the organization Wandervogel and specialized in music literature of the youth music movement . He worked with Fritz Jöde , Friedrich Blume , Hans Dagobert bruger (1894-1932), Georg Götsch , Hilmar Höckner (1891-1968), Adolf Hoffmann (1898-1983), Ekkehart Pfannenstiel (1896-1986) and Herman Reichenbach together . In the years 1933 to 1945 the publishing house was strongly influenced by the cultural office of the Reich Youth Leadership and the composers of the Hitler Youth , for whom Kallmeyer published writings such as the music of the Hitler Youth or Wir Mädel singen - song book of the Association of German Girls .

After his death, Karl Heinrich (Heinz) Möseler (1912–1984) took over the publishing house, initially as the publishing director and from 1947 as sole owner, which he continued from 1950 as " Karl Heinrich Möseler Verlag ".
