Kronos Digital Entertainment was an American developer for video games who also created computer animations, for example for television. The company, founded in 1993, was based in Pasadena , California and was best known for the two Fear Effect games for Sony's PlayStation .

The first publication for the then new PlayStation, the Beat'em Up Criticom , was developed in just four months for the publisher Vik Tokai, according to President Stanley Liu. Although the familiarization with the new PlayStation hardware for the programmers would have taken this time, Vik Tokai offered enough money so that the game could be produced despite the lack of time. The result was significant technical and playful deficiencies and, as a result, negative reviews from the specialist press. The best-known development for the PC platform is the interactive horror adventure Phantasmagoria . With the discontinuation of the third Fear Effect game, the company's involvement in the gaming sector also ended.
