Sigurd Lohde

Sigurd Lohde (born June 4, 1899 in Weimar , † July 22, 1977 in Bad Sooden-Allendorf ; born Sigismund Lohde ) was a German actor .

After training as an actor and director, he began his first engagement in 1919 at the State Theater in Berlin . Then he played in Frankfurt am Main , Breslau and again in Berlin.

Until 1932 he was part of the ensemble of the Volksbühne Berlin . He has also appeared in several films. In the 1930s he first emigrated to Austria and performed at Scala in Vienna . Then he went to Prague to the Volkstheater there and finally to the German Theater in London .

In the 1940s he moved to Australia under the name Sydney Loder . There he acted at the Theater Royal, Palace Theater and Minerva Theater and also in the insurgent film Gold Digger . In 1955 Lohde returned to Germany and was engaged at the Renaissance Theater in Berlin. He acted in several films and had his last stage role at the Theater des Westens in Death of a Salesman .

Sigurd Lohde died in July 1977 at the age of 78 in Bad Sooden-Allendorf. His grave is in the state-owned cemetery Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend (grave location: 20-B-1).
