Kross (unit)

The Kross , also known as Kroß , was a Lübeck liquid measure and was reserved for the retail trade in wine , beer , oil and similar items.

The size corresponded to the size of the quarter and it was 0.03158 liters larger than the quarter ( small quarter = 0.90938 liters ) in wholesale. There used to be no difference in quantity.

Two Kross resulted in the Doppelkross (double quarters), which corresponded to a jug .
