Krugle is a search engine aimed at programmers and other developers. It allows you to search reusable source code, for example those with an open source license. The name of the search engine and the software manufacturer of the same name is derived from the name of the company's co-founder Ken Krugler .

Supported by the search engine open source projects include repositories such as Sourceforge.net , the Sun Developer Network , on Microsoft's Shared Source page CodePlex -hosted projects, Apache , JavaDocs and Wikipedia . In total, more than 100,000 projects are reportedly searched. At the beginning of 2007, the search index reportedly contained over 2 billion lines of source text. Users can make the source texts found available to each other on the Internet. The beta phase of Krugle is complete. The search engine is developed by the software manufacturer Krugl of the same name and has been publicly available since June 14, 2006. The user interface is held in AJAX and divided into tabs (tabs).

The search engines Koders and Codefetch and others follow similar concepts. Krugle wants to set himself apart from these search engines above all through the possibilities " that developers can add comments to the code and documentation, set bookmarks and save collections of search results in a" workspace "with tabs and their own URL ."

In addition to the free search engine using a web interface, there is also an independent paid application that is sold under the name Krugl-Enterprise . This application is primarily aimed at development teams and can be configured for various development systems such as ClearCase , Perforce , Microsoft's Team Foundation Server and Subversion . Krugle Enterprise 2.0 was released in February 2008.
