The Krysische (proper name:. [ɢrəts'a mɛz], Russ крызский язык kryzskij jazyk ., English Kryts ), older name also Dschekisch is from about 8000 to 15,000 people in Azerbaijan spoken. Together with Buduchi, it belongs to the Shah Dagh subgroup within the Lesgian group of the ( Northeast Caucasian ) post-Dagestani language family.
The name Krysian is based on the name of the village Qrız , the older name Jekish on the place name Cek .
Linguistic situation
Crysian is not a written language. It is critically endangered as it is under strong assimilation pressure from the Azerbaijani side.
