Kubal
The CUBIC BORG ALUMINUM AB (Kubal) is Sweden's only producer of aluminum and is one of RUSAL .
The factory is located at the Sundsvall harbor exit . It was founded in 1942. Half of the aluminum is sold to Swedish customers, the rest to Europe. The aluminum oxide used to produce aluminum comes mainly from Jamaica, Spain and Ireland. Spain and Ireland do not have their own bauxite mines , but import them from Africa.
The aluminum is produced using the Hall-Héroult process with prebaked electrodes. 450 employees produce 100,000 tons of aluminum annually.
