Kudzu (software)

Kudzu is originally from Red Hat developed software for automatic hardware detection among Linux distributions Red Hat Linux and Fedora , among others, also from the Debian -based distribution Knoppix is used.

An alternative to Kudzu is the Discover developed by Progeny, which is used by the Linux distribution Gnoppix, among others.

As of version 9 of Fedora and version 6 of Red Hat Enterprise Linux , the HAL takes over the tasks of Kudzu. The development of kudzu has ceased.
