The Kufstein Basin is a geological basin in the Inn Valley between Erl / Oberaudorf and Kufstein . It is located in both Austria and Germany .

The basin is located at the intersection of several large mountain ranges: Kaiser Mountains in the southeast, Brandenberger Alps (Rofan) in the southwest, Bavarian Prealps in the west and the Chiemgau Alps in the north.

The Kufstein Basin is characterized by lower rainfall and a longer vegetation period in contrast to the rest of the region. It is extremely favored by the hairdryer .
