Kugong Island is an uninhabited island in the Belcher Islands in Hudson Bay . With 321 km² it is the third largest island in the archipelago after Flaherty Island and Tukarak Island . Kugong Island is located west of the main island Flaherty Island and is separated from it by Churchill Sound .

Politically, Kugong Island belongs to the Qikiqtaaluk region of the Canadian Nunavut territory .

Arctic hares are common on the island.
