The Kulah Zirah is usually made of steel . The Kulah Zirah is hemispherical or bowl-shaped and often consists of several plates that are connected to one another with chain armor, or made entirely of chain mesh . On its top there is a plate on which a point is often attached. It can be equipped with an adjustable nose iron as a visor , or the face is protected by a triangular chain fabric that is transparent or with two openings for the eyes. The nose irons can be made narrow or so wide at the bottom that they cover the entire lower half of the face. Padding was worn under the helmet. A related helmet is the Kulah Khud ; in this case, however, the helmet bell is made from a piece of metal.
