Kulatsch

The Kulach was a measure of length in Turkestan and Khiwa and corresponded to the fathom . It was the only measure in the region and the standard was made of wood and had the seal of the ruler ( Khan ) on it. The measure was rarely taken. Russian dimensions took precedence, also because trade in Russian goods predominated.
