Culture portal Hessen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hessen Kulturportal was a free information platform that had existed since 2007. Since July 1, 2015, the culture portal supported by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art (HMWK) has been operated in cooperation with the Wiesbaden agency Pagebreaker. The regional working group of cultural initiatives and socio-cultural centers in Hessen (LAKS Hessen) had previously designed the portal, also in cooperation with the HMWK. The portal went online for the first time in summer 2007 and was available from the relaunch in summer 2015 until 2017 at the address www.kulturportal.hessen.de.

The advertising-free culture portal acted as an informative interface between the various cultural areas. The new conception and the restart of the website at the beginning of July 2015 was initiated by Boris Rhein , the Hessian Minister for Science and Art. The aim of the information platform was to bundle the diverse facets of cultural and artistic life in Hesse, taking into account state and municipal cultural providers as well as the field of the independent cultural scene. The portal informed the users interested in event tips and enabled the cultural scene to network with one another.

Development of the culture portal

The Kulturportal Hessen was divided into eight different subject areas:

  • Building culture
  • Film & Media
  • history
  • literature
  • Museum & Art
  • music
  • Scene & socioculture
  • theatre

There was also a calendar for cultural events from Hessen on the information platform.
