Movie blood
Film blood or theater blood is an artificially produced liquid that should come as close as possible to real blood in color, consistency and external appearance . Its use is common in theater or film .
Industrially produced artificial blood usually consists of gelatine and various food colors . However, there are numerous other manufacturing methods, especially in the amateur sector. The simple production from cocoa powder , water and red food coloring is widely used . In black and white film chocolate sauce was in use, such as in Psycho .
Capsule blood that is used in the performers' mouths mostly contains strawberry or peppermint aromas to make them easier to use.
An important manufacturer of film blood is the Kryolan company in Berlin. It supplies film studios and theaters all over the world. The studios in Hollywood are the biggest buyers.
