Kurbat Ivanov
Kurbat Afanassjewitsch Ivanov († 1666 ), Russian Курбат Афанасьевич Иванов , was a Tobolsk Cossack , explorer and cartographer. He and his Cossack troop discovered Lake Baikal in 1643 and were the first to map the Lenaufer , the Baikal and the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk .
