Kurhaus Freudenstadt
The Kurhaus and Congress Center Freudenstadt is an event location in the large district town of Freudenstadt . It forms the center of the cultural activities in the city. It consists of the Kurhaus, built in the 1950s, and the congress center, which was added in the 1980s.
Kurhaus
In the Kurhaus there is a theater with 630 seats, in which theater, music and ballet performances take place regularly, as well as the Great Kursaal with a capacity of up to 480 people, in which weddings, dance events and trade fairs are held. The third hall in the Kurhaus is the Gerhard-Hertel-Saal (formerly the Kleiner Kursaal ) with a capacity of up to 100 people, mainly readings or lectures take place here. In the Kurhaus there is also a fireplace room, course room and playroom, as well as the alternative Subiaco cinema, which is housed in the former dance café of the Kurhaus.
Convention center
The congress center consists of the Kienbergsaal, which can be divided into one to three rooms with a mobile wall system and thus offers space for up to 400 people as required. Mainly congresses and lectures take place in this hall. Two additional foyers allow paintings, sculptures and other exhibitions. The Kurhaus gastronomy is located in the lower area of the congress center (Mexican restaurant).
Spa garden with foyer
The Kurhaus includes the approximately 7000 m² spa garden with seating, which is separated from the street by a glass foyer. The 19 showcases are equipped with different themes. In April 2011, a small bear museum was set up in the spa garden at the end of the foyer.
Especially in the summer months, the area offers a great variety of plants and flowers. There is also a large sequoia tree to be admired in the spa garden, right next to a chess board made of stone slabs and heavy stones as figures.
The originals of fountain figures in Freudenstadt are in the foyer. Only copies of these original figures can be found on the associated fountain in Freudenstadt.
