The column was erected in 1725 on the market square opposite the town hall. It consists of Hilbersdorfer Porphyrtuff . For the construction of the market fountain around 1820, the column had to leave its place. In 1966 it was so desolate that a copy was made by the Frankenberg sculptor H. Thiel, which was unveiled on October 2, 1969. In the meantime, the column has returned from the park on Humboldtstrasse to the market square. However, it was set up without a base and not at a corner .

construction

Like almost all distance columns, it consists of seven parts. The base, pedestal and the crown of the pedestal form the substructure. The superstructure consists of an intermediate plate, shaft, coat of arms and tip.
