Saxon post mile column in Niemegk
The listed Saxon post mile pillar Niemegk is one of the post mile pillars . It was built on behalf of the Elector Friedrich August I of Saxony by the Land and Border Commissioner Adam Friedrich Zürner in the first half of the 18th century in the Electorate of Saxony , to which Niemegk belonged at the time. The distance column adorned with coat of arms is located on a small square at the meeting of Großstraße, Wittenberger Straße, Straße der Jugend and Lindenstraße in the Brandenburg town of Niemegk in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district .
history
The column was erected in 1725. At that time, Niemegk was on the Poststrasse Brück - Wittenberg. In 1967 the sandstone column was restored by master stonemason Scholz from Belzig . In the Niemegk town hall there is a leftover piece of a post mile column.
construction
The distance column consists of seven parts. The base, pedestal and the crown of the pedestal form the substructure. The superstructure consists of an intermediate plate, shaft, coat of arms and tip.
