Kurt Dröge

Kurt Dröge (born March 10, 1951 in Bad Salzuflen ) is a German folklorist and former head of the folklore department of the Federal Institute for Culture and History of Germans in Eastern Europe (BKGE) .

From 1969 to 1977 he studied in Mainz and Münster and completed his studies with a doctorate on the technical language of book printing in the 19th century.

He is the author of 12 monographs on cultural-historical topics as well as numerous specialist articles. He works as a lecturer at the Universities of Oldenburg and Osnabrück. He is a member of the Historical Commission for Pomerania and the Folklore Commission for Westphalia .
