Kurt Hoppe (politician, 1919)

Kurt Hoppe (born October 25, 1919 in Hohenstein-Ernstthal ; † February 13, 1988 in Sande (Friesland) ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After finishing elementary school, Hoppe first attended a textile school and received training in the textile industry, sometimes with a commercial focus. From 1940 to 1943 he served in the Navy and from 1943 to 1946 was taken prisoner by the Americans. After his release, he initially carried out manual work until 1947, then became a freelancer for daily newspapers and finally joined the postal service in 1952, where he was later made a civil servant.

Hoppe held various offices in the SPD and volunteered in associations and organizations. In the council of the community of Schortens in Friesland he became an alderman. From June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1974 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (6th and 7th electoral terms).

Hoppe was married and had five children.
