Kurt Palis

Kurt Palis (born October 16, 1937 in Engelshöhe, Wehlau district ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Bundestag.

Life

After primary school, Palis attended grammar school and graduated from high school in 1957. He then studied education and law at the University of Hamburg . From 1969 to 1977 he was a training officer for a private insurance company and took over the technical training of the company's field staff. He then worked in the insurance field service from 1977 to 1980. Until 1993 he worked again as a consultant in insurance companies.

Palis is a member of the HBV union and was chairman of the works council in the insurance company in which he worked. Palis has been a member of the SPD since 1965, at times he was also chairman of the district executive committee in Hamburg-Jenfeld and of the local SPD executive committee in Soltau. From 1991 to 1993 he was a council member of the city of Soltau. From 1991 on he was a member of the district council of the Soltau-Fallingbostel district. When he moved into the Bundestag on July 12, 1993, he left both this office and his employment in the insurance company on hold. He replaced the MP Günther Tietjen , who had recently died, and was a member of the Bundestag until the end of the fourteenth legislative period in 2002.
