Kurt Ruthofer

Kurt Ruthofer (born September 16, 1943 in Wolfsberg ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and businessman. Ruthofer was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1994 to 1997 .

Ruthofer attended elementary and secondary school between 1949 and 1957 and then went to St. Paul Abbey High School , where he graduated in 1962. Ruthofer then did his military service in 1962 and studied from 1963 to 1970 at the University of World Trade . He completed his studies with the academic degree Dipl.-Kfm. from. Ruthofer was a teacher at a vocational secondary school from 1970 to 1975 and took over his parents' tree nursery in 1975, which he has owned since 1975.

Ruthofer was City Councilor of Wolfsberg from 1991 to 1994 and again from 1997 City Councilor for Finance. In between he was a councilor. Ruthofer ran for mayoral elections in 1997, but only got around 10 percent of the vote. In 1991 he was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Wolfsberg and represented the FPÖ from November 7, 1994 to March 19, 1997 in the National Council. After Ruthofer was unable to achieve a top position in the 2004 municipal council elections, he left politics.
