Kurt Schweder

Kurt Schweder (born November 12, 1924 in Essen , † April 9, 2003 ) was a German heraldist and engraver .

Life

After completing an apprenticeship as a steel engraver, Schweder started a four-year course in graphics . In many similar special courses, he acquired extensive knowledge and manual skills. Military service in the war from 1942 and American imprisonment in 1945 did not limit his will to work. This was followed by various activities in different work techniques, especially engraving techniques, from design to execution, also in important companies. The heraldist Professor Otto Hupp was strongly influenced in his specialist field of heraldry . He designed a large number of coats of arms for the districts of the city of Essen , which never had an official character, but were well received by the population.

He was a member of various heraldic societies, such as the Adler in Vienna , the Hanoverian Kleeblatt and also the Swiss Heraldic Society.
