Short Biographies is a freely accessible database on the Internet that provides biographical information and some other information on people with a PhD in mathematics .

It is run by the German Mathematicians Association (DMV) and is supervised by the German historian Renate Tobies , on whose biographical lexicon in mathematics for post-doctoral students it is based.

The search can be controlled with the help of a search mask and the option of entering last name, first name, date of birth, place of birth, date of death, etc. The biographical data are freely available to anyone interested in mathematics.
