The Kuznetsov NK-8 ( Russian Кузнецов НК-8 ) is a civil turbine jet engine from the Soviet design office Kuznetsov . It was developed for the Il-62 and also used in the Tu-154 . Series production was carried out in the Kazan plant No. 16 from 1966 to 1976 and comprised 931 pieces.
