occupation

Kuzey Güney is a Turkish drama series that has been broadcast by the private broadcaster Kanal D since September 7, 2011 . The series is loosely based on Irwin Shaw's novel Rich man, Poor man (German title: All the wealth of this world ) from 1982 and Orhan Pamuk's novel Mr. Cevdet and his sons . The series name is derived from the first names of the two brothers Kuzey ( Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ ) and Güney ( Buğra Gülsoy ) and is at the same time a metaphor for the contrast between the two. Kuzey and Güney are the Turkish terms for north and south .

action

Kuzey is the younger of two brothers; he is rebellious, principled, fearless and yet has a big heart. He defends himself against any kind of injustice with his fists and thus gets himself into trouble.

Güney is Kuzey's older brother and his opposite pole: He is calm, patient, never acts without thinking about the consequences and is a very ambitious, intelligent young man.

The only thing the two brothers have in common is their love for Cemre.

One day when Kuzey tries to confess his love to Cemre, he learns that she is with Güney. When he got drunk and his brother Güney had to pick him up, they got into an accident on the way back, in which a young man was hit and died. Since Güney has an all-important university exam the next day and Kuzey sees himself as guilty, he tells the police that he drove the car and goes to jail for 4 years. The series begins after Kuzey is released from prison.
