The Kvernufoss is a waterfall in the south of Iceland .
He is the little, unknown neighbor of Skógafoss , which is 1.6 km to the west. Kvernufoss can be reached in less than 1 km by foot from the Skógar Museum car park . Thereby fences have to be overcome. The Kverna River falls 40 m. Upstream there is the Selvadsfoss and the path over the Fimmvörðuháls runs in parts to the west. The gorge with the Kvernufoss can be seen from the ring road .
