Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani is one of the leading financial advisors, management consultants and politicians in Ghana .

Mpiani attended Prempeh College in Kumasi between February 1955 and December 1961. He later attended the University of Ghana between October 1963 and June 1966 and graduated in the summer of 1966 with a Bachelor in Administration.

Between September 1968 and July 1969 he attended the Arthur D. Little Institute for Economics.

Career

Mpiani initially worked for the Capital Investment Gesellschaft (now Ghana Investment Promotion Center) and later at the National Investment Bank. By 1974, he had been promoted to head of the National Investment Bank's investment development department. In 1978 he became chief manager.

Between 1979 and 1981 Mpiani was a member of the Ghanaian parliament under President Hilla Limann . During this time he was particularly active in the Finance Committee and the Economic Committee.

After the military coup of December 31, 1981 by Jerry Rawlings , Mpiani went into political exile, first in the Ivory Coast and later in Great Britain . Only after the end of the military dictatorship in 1992 under the now elected President Jerry Rawlings did Mpiani return to Ghana.

Since 2005, Mpiani has served as Minister for President's Affairs and Minister for Aviation and Chief of Staff of the Presidency of President John Agyekum Kufuor . In April 2006 the ministry was reallocated. Minister of Aviation was Gloria Akuffo . Mpiani remained Minister for President's Affairs.
